....Yes. I did. Check out this gorgeous ADOLFO 80's dress. I am trying to remain calm in writing ADOLFO but really I am flipping out because I lurvvvvve this Spanish label! Here's a bit of info:
"Adolfo DomÃnguez is a Spanish fashion designer. He was born May 14, 1950 in Ourense, Galicia in northern Spain. He studied design and cinematography in Paris, with further studies in London, England. He took over his father's fashion boutique in Ourense in the early 1970s. He spent the following years developing his own designs, and finally made the big jump with a presentation of his work in Madrid in 1981. He also became the first Spanish designer to open his own brand-name store in Madrid, which soon mushroomed into a chain with outlets across Spain and abroad. Finally it went public (another first for a fashion designer), and became one of the Madrid stock market's hottest properties. His style is urbane, functional, casual and eminently comfortable, making use of loose, natural fabrics. One of his key marketing strategies has been to avoid distribution through multi-brand shops and target the ultimate consumer directly, reducing delivery time and cost to the buyers. He was among the first to inject a new, fresh approach in Spanish fashion, spearheading the rise of a generation of new designers." (Source: Fashion Model Directory)
Back to the flirty lil dress!!! Its freely free flow flowy (or you can wear it belted to achieve the look as it is pictured here. In the pics below I synched in the waist at the back to give it a more fitted look to the waist. But wearing it loose is cool too! You decide!) I love the florals combined with the plaid. The dress has so many colors: pink, red, green, yellow, black, orange! It buttons up the front and has a snap at the very top of the neck line ending in a lil flourish! I tried to take a picture of the label. It says ADOLFO at Saks Fifth Avenue. It came out blurry so I will take another one tomorrow...but in the meantime I put up the blurry label photo! I hope that you love this dress as much as I do. I found it at the now defunct SF Junior League's Next To New Shop. The price is 50 dollars. Size 10. Gracias!
