Vintage 80s Space Cadet Meets Elegant Dress

I love the fusion of notions in this dress. The best that I can define it is Spacey Elegant! It is 100 percent silk and a very wearable dress. You can wear it for work and for after work drinks! It is free flowing but I belted it here in the pictures. I think it looks best belted. But it would also look stunning worn loose if you wear it with some really really high heeled black boots, and a gorgeous long free flowing coat! That would be amazing. Look at the detailing on the top portion of the dress! And the sleeves are so creative...check out the sleeve pics. The panel on the front of the sleeve is in the back as well. So cool! A great design and a lot of attention to the details. The dress is in perfect condition, Size 8 and yours for 45 bucks.

Hither Tither Darling 70's Sundress

Oooooo! Don't you just love a simple sundress? This one is long...you can cut it if you like but its gorgeous at this length too. Wear it with a pair of Haviana Flip Flops!! Lovely denim blue color with a beautifully floral stitched in white pattern. It zips up the back, has cute pockets for highlights, and is a flattering fit to the body. There are three white belt loops (you can see one at the front if you look closely at the waistline). So it originally came with a belt but when I bought it said belt was long gone! So, just use a pretty piece of ribbon in any color and you have yourself a belt again! Perfect condition (well except for the missing belt thing!) Size 10 and 35 dollars.

So be sure to pair this purple cutie with anything. Purple...a most basic color! And royal! The detailing is superb and it is in excellenTAY condition. Enuf said! 70 Lil Black Dress because one can never have enuf.....

...lil black dresses! By the way, did you know that there is a shop called La Petit Robe Noire in Paris (The Little Black Dress)? No? Yes? In anycase here is a blurb:

"Look no further than designer Didier Ludot's boutique La Petite Robe Noire. Housed under the elegant arcades of the Palais Royal, this store sells nothing but vintage and vintage-inspired little black dresses. On the vintage side, expect to find frighteningly chic dresses from the 40s-70s by celebrated designers such as Christian Dior, Balenciaga, and Chanel. If your tastes (and wallet) run more toward Ludot's modern take on retro fashions, you will be delighted with the breadth of sophisticated styles available. No doubt this store would have made Holly Golightly swoon with desire." (Source: Barbara Diggs)

So, the black dress is of utmost importance as we round out our wardrobes! Are you a believer? If so, check out this amazing 70's Maxi Dress. Great silhouette, ties in the back, zips up the back, swirls when you walk and I love the flouncy sleeves. Size 8 and 40 dollars. And it is lined! Bonussssss! (scarf not included!)

60's Frilly Pink Cowgirl-Apron-New Look Skirt

A frilly pink "New Look" Cow gurl skirt that ties like an apron on both sides! What? Surely this was a costume at one time? Maybe? In any case it is very mucho like "O for Owwwwesome" and one of my pieces that plucks my heart strings. I think its the pink. Or the fluffy skirt apron thing. Well, its in great condition and the tag said that it is from the 60's. So, imma say 60s even though it, to me, is timeless!! It def has that 50's to the early part of the 60's "New Look" feel (synched waist, big skirt). How would one wear it? Well, if I were to wear this I would put it with a simple white tee (i would paint the letters LUV across the tee with green paint) shirt and a pair of flip flops, big sunglasses, and a yellow/pink/green envelope purse (the purse colors are in deference to the 50's...you know how they loved to wear everything matchy matchy!!!). How does that sound? Good? Yah! well, how does this sound: the skirt fits a size 8 or 10 and is yours for 37.00 dollars. YeeeHaaaaa!

Did Someone Say 80's ADOLFO....

....Yes. I did. Check out this gorgeous ADOLFO 80's dress. I am trying to remain calm in writing ADOLFO but really I am flipping out because I lurvvvvve this Spanish label! Here's a bit of info:

"Adolfo Domínguez is a Spanish fashion designer. He was born May 14, 1950 in Ourense, Galicia in northern Spain. He studied design and cinematography in Paris, with further studies in London, England. He took over his father's fashion boutique in Ourense in the early 1970s. He spent the following years developing his own designs, and finally made the big jump with a presentation of his work in Madrid in 1981. He also became the first Spanish designer to open his own brand-name store in Madrid, which soon mushroomed into a chain with outlets across Spain and abroad. Finally it went public (another first for a fashion designer), and became one of the Madrid stock market's hottest properties. His style is urbane, functional, casual and eminently comfortable, making use of loose, natural fabrics. One of his key marketing strategies has been to avoid distribution through multi-brand shops and target the ultimate consumer directly, reducing delivery time and cost to the buyers. He was among the first to inject a new, fresh approach in Spanish fashion, spearheading the rise of a generation of new designers." (Source: Fashion Model Directory)

Back to the flirty lil dress!!! Its freely free flow flowy (or you can wear it belted to achieve the look as it is pictured here. In the pics below I synched in the waist at the back to give it a more fitted look to the waist. But wearing it loose is cool too! You decide!) I love the florals combined with the plaid. The dress has so many colors: pink, red, green, yellow, black, orange! It buttons up the front and has a snap at the very top of the neck line ending in a lil flourish! I tried to take a picture of the label. It says ADOLFO at Saks Fifth Avenue. It came out blurry so I will take another one tomorrow...but in the meantime I put up the blurry label photo! I hope that you love this dress as much as I do. I found it at the now defunct SF Junior League's Next To New Shop. The price is 50 dollars. Size 10. Gracias!

60's Vintage Swish Oh La La Purse

I went BanananananaS! (a la Stylist Rachel Zoe) when I found this cute lil bag! It is to LIVE for indeed! Cuteness Factor? A BIG Yistrut TEN! I am not going to say much about it because it speaks for itself. The details are fab. I love the handles and the buckle detailing on the bottom portion of the handles. And the knob closures? Wow! They just don't make bags like this anymore. It is a genuine leather bag by Ronay. I have been trying to find a bit of history on Ronay and found this tidbit:

"Their Famous Motto in their Ads back in the day was "Luxury without Extravagance"!! Their Bags were Always Made of the Finest Materials & were Always Cause for Conversation but Yet Affordable & Without Looking Cheap. Similar to Marc and Luella, Ronay Bags Operate on a Big Scale that is Uncommon in the Vintage World. In Many Ways as Vintage & as Un-Vintage as You Can Get!!" (Source: Corey's Corner Etsy Shop)

Well, there you go! Well said! This bag is very soft and in very good shape. It has a couple of small spots of wear (if you look really closely...which I do when buying for my customers!). Anyway, check out the pics! Its well worth the price of 25 dollars!

Lovely Lovely Lovely Cape/Coat (1960's)

Every time I look at this Cape/Coat I just hear the word...lovely, lovely, lovely ringing in my ears! It is lovely, isn't it? Don't you think its lovely? My gosh! Its so lovely! See what I mean, lovely? You..not the coat. Well, you are both lovely! Haha! Anyway... This Cape Coat is delicious! Absolutely. My fav thing about it is the knotted buttons! (see pic). Elegant and hip! The color is a lovely (there I go again...) camel color. It goes perfectly with most anything...jeans, slacks, skirts, dresses. And you can dress it up or down. Even throw it over your pj's in the morning when you wake up early and race out to get a cup of coffee (I know I am not the only one to do this!). The coat fits a size 10 or 12 perfectly. It is, well, a lovely perfect Cape/Coat! The price? 55 lovely dollars. Lovely!!!

Samantha Stevens 1970's Dress

Ohhhh...can't you just see it??? Samantha waiting for Darrin to get home from the office wearing this cute lil dress? Meeting him at the door with a big ol cheeky smile because there is a donkey in the middle of the living room! Good Ol Uncle Arthur has turned the nosey next door neighbor (you know...the one with the squeaky voice!) into said donkey beast. For laughs. And there is Samantha...looking ever so swish in this lovely lil frock! Oh yes!!! Perfect! This lovely lil dress has an amazing pattern (see pics). The dress is a soft light off white with green, orange, browny-beige, and pink Asian inspired printed pattern. It buttons down the front half way and belts beautifully around the waist. And I absolutely LOVE the back (see pic). It is yoked an the belt is built into dress. Love it! Size 8 and yours for 45 dollars!

Hope: The Lil Black Bag

What an amazing find! Yellow symbolizes the color of hope so when I saw the gorgeous yellow flower on this bag I had to purchase it (And I had to name the bag: Hope). Actually my friend Shanina and I found Hope (okay..well she found Hope for me and I squealed in delight!) in a lil shop in Oakland. We had spent the morning eating and laughing (she's a crack up!) so we decided to go on a treasure hunt. And...voila! Okay...so, Hope is from the 60's, has two matching  lovely wooden oval shaped handles, and has stitched on lil black beads and bigger heart shaped black beads! And then we have the flower itself!!! Comprised of yellow, orange and green lil beads. Awesome. A couple of the beads are missing from the yellow portion of the flower (see pic). Its not bad though (the missing beads) and adds to Hope's beauty! I wouldn't replace them. I would just leave as is. So how much is Hope? 40 dollars. Lets face it...that's a small price to pay for Hope. And well worth it! Check out the pics and you can purchase Hope from the Yistrut Etsy shop at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Yistrut
(This bag is no longer available. She now lives with her beautiful new friend named Amber.)
